Nicaragua is now an Apostille country

This news in from the US Department of State:

“Effective, May 14, 2013, Nicaragua is a member of the 1961 Hague Convention abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. However, the US Department of State Authentications Office will issue the apostille certificate for Nicaraguan documents as a courtesy until June 14, 2013. Thereafter, Apostille Certifications must be obtained from your local Secretary of State. Once you receive the apostille the document will be entitled to recognition in the country of intended use and WILL NOT require authentications from the US Department of State.”
