As of 06/14/10, the DC Treasurer’s Office has announced a fee increase for Apostille and Certification of documents from $10.00 per document to $15.00 per document.

Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Shipping Documents Change
As of April 14, 2010, The Embassy of Jordan announced that legalization of shipping documents (Commercial Invoice and Certificate of Origin, would no longer be required. The Embassy of Oman will no longer provide legalization services for Certificates of Origin and Commercial Invoices. Certificates of Origin and Commercial Invoices can still be certified by the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC).

Consulate General of Costa Rica Payment Change for Document Legalization
As of February 1, 2010, the Consulate General of Costa Rica announced a change to their Consular Service payment policies. Costa Rica document legalization requests must now be accompanied by MONEY ORDER only. No personal or business checks accepted. Please make certain the Money Order is payable to the CONSULATE of COSTA RICA. For documents authentication request submitted to WCS, the Money Order payment will be made on your behalf and invoiced upon completion.

Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman Document Legalization Change
The Sultanate of Oman no longer requires legalization of shipping documents. The Embassy of Oman will no longer provide legalization services for Certificates of Origin and Commercial Invoices. Certificates of Origin and Commercial Invoices can still be certified by the National US-Arab Chamber of Commerce (NUSACC).

Islamic Republic of Iran
The Iran Interest Section is now requiring that documents submitted for legalization be assigned some form of face value. When submitting documents for Iran Legalization, please provide a face value for the document, even if the value is only $1.00. Iran will be charging legalization fees based on face value according to the scale outlined in the linked document titled Iran Interest Section – Fee Schedule -2010

Dominican Republic Document Apostille Available
In August of 2009, the Dominican Republic became a signatory nation to the Hague Convention of 1961. As a result, Apostille is now the standard for a legal document to be used in Dominican Republic. The Embassy of the Dominican Republic no longer provides Consular Authentication services.
